Fit (and Fashionable) at Sculpthouse.

There’s something inspiring about a room full of bodies, all shapes and sizes, giving a workout their personal best to some good beats.  The classes at Sculpthouse are a great way to get in a high intensity strength and cardio workout without feeling like you need to feast afterwards. I get bored easily in workout classes, but Sculpthouse splits the class-- combining core workouts on a "megaformer" and interval training on a curvy, low impact treadmill. You will be in and out of the 50 minute class before you know it.

I am a Gemini. I thrive on routine but love constant stimulation and change. I am also busy. My schedule changes. I have to be adaptable.

I love to get in a sweaty workout daily but I am picky. I need a class that goes by quickly, kicks my butt (at my own pace) and pushes me when and where I need it without leaving me totally depleted.

I get bored of the same workouts and as much as I love the convenience of a Zoom workout from my home, I miss the energy you get from a room full of people working towards a goal. It’s just more inspiring than staring at a screen, especially when you’re in a rut. (I definitely get in ruts).

Classes are conveniently held throughout the day but I love that there are very early classes (for the “early bird catches the worm” folks) and then also classes for the folks that aren’t up at the crack of dawn. Case in point, I can hit up at 9:30am class, noon, or 4:30pm and still get all my work done.

The 50 minute class is split between “pilates-like” movements on a “megaformer” (called a Lagree– but looks like a reformer to me) and an interval training portion on a curvy, low-impact treadmill called a Woodway (which takes some getting used to, but it’s totally worth it). It’s a great way to get in a high intensity strength and cardio workout without feeling like you need to feast afterwards.

For 25 minutes you are on a treadmill, hitting your own personal bests at whatever you decide Level 1 through 4 is for you. I like this because it’s customizable. It’s a class I feel comfortable inviting my husband to (who hates a workout class) or my father, who has been working out his whole life. The customization allows me to get in a killer run– that might be too intense for someone else, or not fast enough for a regular runner.

The “reformer” portion focuses on strengthening the core. It might not look like you’re working hard but every single muscle is being pushed and toned, without building, or bulking.

The class goes by quickly and you can choose if you start on The Curve or the Lagree. Regardless, you will leave feeling sticky, in the best of ways. #detox

Not in the mood to workout? They have the cutest, most fashion forward shopping, (in the store and online), making it all the more motivating to focus on living your happiest, healthiest life and looking cute doing it.

I double dare you to commit to 3 classes and go all in.

Me and a friend did 10 classes in a row and it felt great to challenge my body in new ways and it totally got me out of a funk and workout rut.

Moving forward, I signed up for a weekly membership, 2 classes a week for $50 with only a two week commitment, so I can keep this Gemini fit, mentally and physically while staying engaged and excited.
