Cupping

Cupping therapy promotes enhanced blood circulation— drawing energy and blood flow to areas prone to inflammation, poor circulation and stagnant lymph in the body.

Often combined with Acupuncture— Cupping Therapy is an ancient form of Chinese medicine in which a mild to intense suction is created using special cups across the body’s meridians along the back.

The “suctioning” created during cupping therapy promotes enhanced blood circulation— drawing energy and blood flow to areas prone to inflammation, poor circulation and stagnant lymph in the body. By bringing blood and “energy” to these areas, cupping therapy can help aid in the “detoxification” of the human tissue and vital organs, while also drawing pressure and heat away from body, and helping to relieve pain by breaking up deep scar tissue, and relaxing tender muscles or connective tissue.

Cupping therapy promotes enhanced blood circulation— drawing energy and blood flow to areas prone to inflammation, poor circulation and stagnant lymph in the body.

Cupping can also move lymph fluid, which when stagnant can create a superficial and very real feeling of “bloating” and “puffiness” but also weaken the immune system overtime, making the body more susceptible to seasonal changes, bacteria and viruses.

While being treated by a trained therapist, cupping can feel like a relaxing massage, often producing a calming effect over the body. The cups are sealed off and held in place for 5 to 15 minutes on the patient’s back, producing a vacuum effect. The practitioner may move the cups around, depending on the result the patient is looking to accomplish.

Cupping therapy can produce both immediate and long-term benefits when performed regularly.
