A Hidden Gem — A Taste of Tulum

Tulum Dallas is truly a diamond in the rough.

Nuzzled into the underwhelming “Shops of Highland Park”, is a hidden gem that will romance you from the moment you pull open its majestic wooden doors… but nothing will prepare you for the awe-inspiring bohemian decor until you see it for yourself.

Decorative tile covers the floors and the high ceilings are adorned with a stunning, textured Jungle wallpaper— making you quickly forget that you are in Dallas.

A seductive reel is projected against the back wall and is the perfect balance of strange yet captivating— should your dinner conversation come to a lull.

There are two sides of the restaurant, the dimly lit Jungle, home to a stunning open marble bar with a romantic ambiance and the Beach— a brighter scene with a big open kitchen.

From the moment you enter, you’ll find the service is spectacular— but the food— which could be best classified as an upscale fusion of Mexican meets Mediterranean— exceptional.

Given the location of Tulum, surprised, was an understatement.

The food was light, perfectly seasoned, well portioned and excellent.

For dinner, our group ordered the lamb chops, salmon, beet salad, tuna tartar, ceviche, and greens.

Not a bite disappointed.

Next time we think we will go for some of their signature the cocktails over the bottle of wine, to really feel like we’ve escaped into a tropical paradise.

Tulum is the perfect spot for a romantic night out, brunch with friends, a photo op, or simply to inspire some good conversation over some really good food before realizing you are still in a quiet Dallas shopping center.
